Every-Day Creative Expression

Recently I’ve been struggling with how to express myself creatively. I have a lot of ambition and a lot of ideas but once I sit down to eventually physically create something with my mind and my hands, I get stuck. I falter, I hesitate, I get scared.

I’m really good at planning and outlining and getting everything down to the last detail but once I have to actually do it, I run out of steam.

My constant struggle is taking all of my creativity and ideas and transferring them into a tangible outcome.

Every-Day Creative Expression

I’ve come up with a list of simple ways I can stay creative by doing little things every day with very little motivation.

  • Culminate a playlist of your favorite music
  • Decorate cupcakes
  • Doodle
  • Make a card instead of buying one
  • Journal
  • Make a to-do list
  • Change the way you write one letter of the alphabet
  • Color code my planner
  • Take a sequence of photos of a normal part of my day
  • Reorganize your closet
  • Look through old photos
  • Reread some old writing or journals
  • Wear bright colors
  • Take your work outside

What are some ways you express creativity through normal and mundane actions? How do you stay motivated to try and create something every day?
