Recently I’ve been struggling with how to express myself creatively. I have a lot of ambition and a lot of ideas but once I sit down to eventually physically create something with my mind and my hands, I get stuck. I falter, I hesitate, I get scared.
I’m really good at planning and outlining and getting everything down to the last detail but once I have to actually do it, I run out of steam.
My constant struggle is taking all of my creativity and ideas and transferring them into a tangible outcome.
I’ve come up with a list of simple ways I can stay creative by doing little things every day with very little motivation.
- Culminate a playlist of your favorite music
- Decorate cupcakes
- Make a card instead of buying one
- Make a to-do list
- Change the way you write one letter of the alphabet
- Color code my planner
- Take a sequence of photos of a normal part of my day
- Reorganize your closet
- Look through old photos
- Reread some old writing or journals
- Wear bright colors
- Take your work outside
What are some ways you express creativity through normal and mundane actions? How do you stay motivated to try and create something every day?
